Off duty cop catches robber in river!

A robber got more than he bargained for when he attempted to break into a house in a salubrious seafront location in Largs and was caught red-handed by an off duty policeman!

The incident happened at approximately 6am on Tuesday as the local policeman was going to work when he noticed something unusual going on at his neighbour's household in Boathouse Avenue. A chase ensued before a man was caught at the nearby Noddleburn.

A police insider said: "The off duty policeman was getting up for work and was going to let his dog out and that was when he spotted something strange going on at his neighbour's household. The burglar certainly picked the wrong house to go to!"
