The News 'Facebook' played a scorcher last week after we displayed the sizzing hot temperatures in Largs last Friday afternoon.

Our followers could hardly believe it last Friday when we uploaded an Iphone weather forecast with Largs in the high 20s in Celsius, as the west of Scotland basked in the searing sunshine.

It proved so popular that the feature received 280 'likes' from our Facebook followers - a record to match the temperatures for May which are practically unheard of.

Neal Dawson from Liverpool mused: "Surely Largs has never been that hot."

Kate Ellison said: "‎26 degrees at 6.15pm - lovely!"

Ex-pats couldn't resist coming on to Facebook either. Cameron Moore said: "Crikey, that's as hot as it is here in North Carolina at the moment."
