It's all go for all weather at Barrfields
It's full steam ahead at Barrfields Park as the new all weather community pitch is being prepared for the new season.
Largs Thistle President Margaret Brown has told the 'News' that the club is very excited about the new 3G pitch which is currently being laid down after the club got the go-ahead for the £700,000 development last Wednesday.
Euromillions winner Colin Weir, who is Honorary President of the football club, has helped to contribute towards the project which will be used to encourage young Largs talent on high quality training facilities all year round, and provide usage for amateur teams too.
Margaret said: "It is very exciting, and it is all coming to fruition. We are expecting that it will take around eight weeks and the guys are working so hard. We are hoping everything will be ready in time. We might miss two home games at the start of the seaosn, but that is about all."
