Discount store for Largs

Published: 6 Jul 2012 14:565 comments

A well-known takeaway and restaurant in Largs is set to become another new supermarket in the town centre.

Mr Balbir Kaur has received permission from North Ayrshire Council to replace Bollywood Spice, formerly Fryfare, at 20/22 Nelson Street, with a Costcutter convenience store.

Under the plan, the fast food outlet will be removed, while the full area of the premises will become a retail shop.

"costcutter" may sound like it, but it certainly isn't a discount store.

Thought and Aldi or Lidl was going to be on the horizon, which in the right placejo is something that would be useful in Largs (que the "not in my back yard" brigade!).
