A well known local charity are swimming into action to help raise funds for a Largs family whose son has an aggressive form of cancer.
Gillian's Saltire Appeal have announced that they are going to support young Eddie Staden, who is only nine months old, after he was diagnosed with neuroblastoma children's cancer.
His father John Staden, who worked at Hunterston Power Station, took part in the annual Cumbrae to Largs swims for the Saltire Appeal in recent years, and his sister Nicky alerted the charity organisers to little Eddie's emotional plight.
The Saltire swim takes place on Saturday September 15. To take part, go to the website at http://www.gillianssaltireappeal.org.uk
