A Largs man has said that the view of the hillside could be ruined by the wrong type of tree planting.
Mr Ian Dippie told the 'News': "Growing up and living in Largs like most folk I'm sure I take the surroundings for granted. The ever changing backdrop that the hills provide through the seasons, the sunrise and sunsets, the shadows, the colours, help make Largs a very attractive place to live or visit.
"Now consider the same hills a uniform bland green 365 days a year every year dressed in conifer trees, how much will that detract from the appearance and prosperity of the town?"
Mr Dippie added: " I have studied the outline proposal for Halkshill/Blairpark forestation and believe that it is a positive development but suggest that tree growth should be restricted to the areas behind the hills' skyline as viewed from Largs shore."
