Mrs Dorothy Copeland wrote to the Largs & Millport Weekly News to say: "During the recent spell of lovely summer weather, I have taken my grandchildren along to Aubery park where the lack of facilities is disappointing for all age groups.

The gardens are lovely and there is plenty of seating. However, it would be really nice if we had a proper swing park, similar to the one at Mackerston. At the moment, there is an old slide, climbing frame and some dirty sand - it is not very inviting.

What happened to the crazy golf, boating pond , paddling pool and sandpit of 20 years ago when my children had a wonderful time, messing about in boats?
