An updated flood alert has been issued for Largs, Skelmorlie and Millport today, and the rest of the Ayrshire coastline.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency state that there is the risk of some coastal flooding. Strong winds combined with a high tide may lead to some localised flooding and disruption.

High tide in Largs is at 2.25pm on Monday.

Spray and wave overtopping is expected in exposed coastal areas and promenades which may cause some disruption.

A SEPA spokesman said: "The high tide on Monday afternoon will be particularly high although peak tide levels for the Firth of Clyde are not expected to be as high as that seen on the 3rd January which caused more significant flooding problems.
