A Largs resident has called upon the town to follow the lead of an American town in eradicating the nuisance of swooping seagulls.
In a letter and photograph to the Largs & Millport News Mr Drew Miller said: "I recently visited Morro Bay in California, a very tidy little holiday resort and nearby State Park: http://www.slostateparks.com/morro_rock/ While there I spotted signs that jumped out as an essential for Largs Prom.
Maybe the ‘Wee Paper’ could start a campaign for local by-law or a national campaign to totally outlaw feeding of flying vermin that cause so much harassment of the public.
Signs certainly seemed to work in Morro as there were close to no gulls in the village.
Conclusion: High public co-operation or Gulls can read!"
