LARGS Players’ Comedy Theatre has six shows for the price of one.

To mark the 21st year of the successful summer season at the little theatre on the prom the club have varied the format.

The first half of the show has no fewer than five playlets and extended comedy sketches ranging from performing dogs to a gangster sing-along (don’t ask!).

Brisbane Centre Summer theatre started last week in the Brisbane Centre in Bath Street and will run on Thursdays and Tuesdays until August 14.

Director Jan Green has assembled varied casts including Angie Kelly, George Whitestone and teenager James Fox in ‘Driving Mr Diddy’ which is based in Largs. James, who aims to be a professional actor, also plays a policeman and a dog in other sketches, with other local favourites Jon Wilkin, Ruth Donaldson and Isobel Kell.

Jon Wilkin directs John Godber’s bitter sweet comedy, ‘September In The Rain’ with Pat Nicol and Drew Cochrane playing a Scottish couple who go to Blackpool for their holidays....dirty donkeys and all.

The club have installed brand new sound and lighting equipment for the shows. There will also be a supply of cushions for those who find the council hall seats on the hard side!

All tickets, at £6, are sold on the night of performances with doors open at 7.30pm for the 8pm start. For further information phone 01294 447501 for 01475 675599.
