Mongolia Rally Two friends from Largs are heading on an adventure of a lifetime as they are driving 10,000 from the UK to Mongolia for Cancer Research and and Close Earth - a charity that works alongside indigenous villages to halt rainforest destruction. Pals James McKillop and Duncan McDowall were in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on Monday. So far they have had the rear axle snap four times! They are having a new rear axle shipped out to us in Tashkent, Uzbekistan this week and should be as good as new from then onwards. The trio have been through France, Belgium, Germany, and the Czech Republic, before Lewis, the son of former Clark Memorial Church minister Stephen Smith, returned home as planned, allowing Duncan and James to continue on to Hungary, Romania, Moldova and Ukraine.
