A 20 year old man has been charged in relation to an alleged mugging in Moorburn Road, Largs.

The incident happened at the unusual time of 5.30am on Saturday, as two men, 28 and 55, were ‘attacked’, and jewellery stolen. The victims were not hurt in the incident, according to police.

Police are following a positive line of enquiry into an assault and theft in Nelson Street, Largs, at 5.45pm on Monday, 18 August.

A 34 year old man had his wallet stolen during the incident.

Police are also following up reports of an attempted break-in to Helter Skelter teenage cafe in Gallowgate Street, Largs. Nothing was taken during the early morning incident at 5am on Saturday, 16 August.

A 23 year old man has been reported in connection with damaging the advertising sign outside the Lounge bar/restaurant at 11.05pm on Wednesday, 20 August.

Since last week’s story about the spate of outboard engine thefts at Largs Yacht Haven, two more have since been reported between the dates of 9 and 20 August. Police enquiries are continuing.

A living room window was smashed in Moorburn Road, Largs, after a stone-throwing incident at 5pm on Thursday, 21 August.

There was also an attempted break-in to Skelmorlie Bowling Club at 4.30am on Saturday as a window was smashed on the premises, but nothing was stolen.
