Facebook came to the rescue of a worried tot after losing a much loved teddy bear at the Largs Viking Festival.

An appeal appeared on the Largs News Facebook site after the ted had been lost at the Viking Festival/Amusements.

The picture of the popular bear received plenty of likes and shares after it was posted by dad David McSorley.

Eleanor Currie stated: “I am sure that this was sitting at the ‘Noddy’ car. There was a Thomas and Tweenies ride next to it. Perhaps someone in Largs could go and check if it is still there.” And Joanne Logan did just that, and said: “It is a great result. It would appear to be the one that you found! I have made contact with the owner who is delighted.” Enjoying their own referendum debate were some geese on the far side of Cumbrae on Sunday!

Pictured by Calum Corral, the geese have been a popular fixture on the island. Elisa Goldfrapp joined in the fun and said: “Eh! Are the ‘no’s’ the ones with their head in the sand?!” And keeping on a wildlife theme, Owl Magic were once again exhibiting many magnificent birds. This is a spectacled owl called “Chilli”, and he was given a special close-up by former Largs Academy computing teacher George Crawford.

Colin Howie couldn’t resist: “Was it an owling success - or do people just not give a hoot?” And George also captured an action shot of a gull at the Largs Viking festival, wondering what all the fuss is about during the Starduster display above Largs shore, which you can see on facebook.com/largsandmillportnews And our own Calum Corral captured a scenic shot of the dazzling shoreline, looking out from The Garrison on Cumbrae.

Mary Donnelly said: “You would even say that picture looks like abroad if you didnt know where it was taken.” And Benny Gallagher of Gallagher and Lyle fame said: “I used to play Bass in Kathy Kaye’ s Club in that very building - with Neville Honeyman on drums and Douglas Wylie on piano - while unbeknownst to me at the time, Jim Diamond was in the cafe with his Mum listening to Frank Ifield on the Juke Box! Great memories and a great photo - the old place is looking good!” Rose Samuel said: “It looks very Mediterranean” And islander Emma Newton was impressed and summed it up in one word: “Stunning.” Catch up with lots of great scenic pictures, breaking news, and nostalgia on the Largs News Facebook site.
