Royal British Legion’s Ayrshire President Alistair Kennedy, Vice Chairman James Wilson and treasurer Ruth Kingswood attended the rededication of the Largs Branch on Sunday at St Columba’s Parish Church.
Branches from Millport, Paisley, Kilwinning, and the Isle of Bute came along, as well as the Three Towns branch encompassing Ardrossan, Saltcoats and Stevenston.
Mr Phil Chinnery, secretary of Legion Scotland Largs branch, carried the colour, and chairman Colin McGinty escorted the colour.
The service was held in St Columba’s Parish Church, Largs.
Kind words were spoken by the minister, Reverend Bill Armstrong, about the re-launch of the British Legion in Largs.
After the service, all were invited to McCabes where a marvellous buffet was provided free of charge for which the Royal British Legion branch are very grateful.
Alastair Kennedy said: “Colin McGinty made an excellent speech, thanking everyone for their participation on a very successful day - the branch is here to stay. Welcome back Largs!”
