Last Tuesday night, the Girls Brigade welcomed mums, dads, grannies, grandpas, brothers, sisters and friends to their annual family night.

They enjoyed the girls performances of the natvitiy from the Explorers, a talk about the meanings behind Christmas decorations from the brigaders and an sketch about the Christmas story from the juniors.

The girls had worked really hard to prepare their items and all performed them beautifully. Afterwards the Girls Brigade enjoyed tea and coffee and sold Christmas crafts that the girls had made.

The group raised another £40 for 1st Ekwendeni GB company in Malawi taking us to £140, almost halfway to their target of £300. They are raising money to help send a girl from Ekwendeni to Camp Africa.

This week, the Explorers enjoyed a Christmas party and the Juniors and Brigaders were going to Burnlea Care Home to sing carols and Christmas songs to the residents.

Vicky McGregor, captain of Largs Girls Brigade said: “I would like to thank all my officers for their hard work so far this session and any new girls are welcome to come along and join us in January.”
