A woman from Saltcoats has pled guilty at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court to causing the death to Largs great grandparents Bob and Rose Simpson by careless driving.
The elderly couple were said to holding hands when crossing the road on the morning of Saturday August 3 2013 when the tragedy happened.
Bob, 87, was killed at the scene, and his wife of 66 years, Rose, later died at the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow. The horrifying incident occurred in Greenock Road, Largs.
On Monday, Caroline Hoy, in her mid-thirties, admitted to causing the death of Rose and Bob Simpson by ‘careless driving’ in her red Toyota car.
Sentence has been deferred to 3 February for reports.
