A golf professional is counting the cost after a ‘devastating’ blaze to his pro shop on Wednesday morning, which is believed to have been deliberate.
Routenburn Golf Club have stated that a break-in took place to the shop, before theives set fire to the premises at approximately 5.30am.
Fire crews from Skelmorlie and Largs rushed to the KA Leisure run golf facility, which is owned by North Ayrshire Council, after a 999 call from a farmer.
The Routenburn Golf Club website states: “PGA Professional Greig McQueen is based on site at Routenburn providing a well stocked shop as well as golf instruction and coaching for golfers of all levels.” Full story in this week's Largs and Millport News.
