Families of residents at Warren Park Nursing Home have been told that the complex will be closing in June.
A meeting was held last Monday to inform families of the closure. Reasons given by management included the the amount of money required to bring the facility up to modern day standards to satisfy the Care Commission.
Assurances were given by the home and NAC Social Services that every effort would be made to help find alternative accommodation for the residents, and a list was provided of all the homes in the area where vacances are available.
A planning application was made last year to demolish the current building in Anthony Road, and provide new accommodation.
