The stars of the television show ‘Antiques Roadtrip’ are returning to Largs on Thursday April 30 to film another episode of their hit tea-time programme.

It is a considerable coup for Largs antiques expert Franco Narducci, who has again attracted tv stars, including David Harper and Anita Manning, to his premises in Waterside Street.

And it is good news for Largs as there will be more filming throughout the town which will be appearing on the BBC later this year.

Franco, who is becoming a bit of a tv celebrity himself after appearing in some of the recent shows, said: “A full film crew will also be coming to the town - We are helping to bring Largs to the nation! It is also an opportunity for locals to come along and meet and greet the stars of ‘Antiques Roadtrip’, and they will be coming in their famous Morris Minor convertible.

“It is on Thursday afternoon after 3pm that they are coming, and it draws in the crowds and it also allows for the presenters go on a drive around Largs and surrounding area, and provide some publicity to the town from Nardinis to the Vikings.

“I will be there with my tweed jacket - which has already gained quite a bit of comment in itself!” The tv duo will also be filming on the Isle of Bute on the same day, and Franco has said it is a great chacne to come along and meet and chat to the stars of the popular tv show, which although is shown on BBC2, is actually produced by STV.

Franco is a fan of the programme and thought that Largs would be the ideal vehicle for the popular show, contacting the production team in 2012. The programme shows antiques experts setting off on a road trip around the UK searching for treasures and competing to make the most money at auction.

In the past, experts Charlie Ross and James Braxton have headed to Largs and filmed at various locations including Narduccis, Kelburn Castle and Nardini’s during a day’s filming.

Anita Manning visited Largs Rotary’s antiques event last year, and she is returning to the area to take part in The Rotary Club of Hunterston’s ‘Valuation Day’ on Wednesday, May 27 at Seamill Hydro from 10am to 3pm. All profits will go to CLIC Sargent Scotland for Children with Cancer.
