Political fever gripped Largs as party leaders Nicola Sturgeon of the SNP, and Ruth Davidson of the Conservatives, visited the town on Monday.
Both had come face to face in the BBC election debate on Sunday night, but their paths did not cross on Monday in Largs, amid contrasting scenes during their respective visits.
As expected, huge crowds turned out in force on Monday afternoon in support of the First Minister, as she stopped off in Largs at 4.15pm for around an hour and a half. Nicola Sturgeon was supporting SNP candidate for North Ayrshire Patricia Gibson.
Ruth Davidson's visit on Monday morning, in support of Conservative candidate, was an altogether quieter affair, although the national media did descend upon Largs for interviews. Ruth Davidson was supporting Conservative candidate for North Ayrshire, Jamie Greene.
