Reports of an ‘ongoing firearms incident’ in Largs on Sunday evening led to a police helicopter being deployed overhead.
There was a heavy police presence as people took to social media websites in Largs curious as to what was happening in one of the streets.
A 33 year old man was reported to the Procurator Fiscal under the Firearms Act and Misuse of Drugs Act.
The male was due to appear in Kilmarnock Sheriff Court in relation to these offences this week.
A police spokesman said: “About 8pm, we received a report of an ongoing firearms incident in Nelson Street, Largs. A 33 year old male was later arrested and charged in connection with the incident.”
