The Cathedral of The Isles in Millport is preparing for Christmas. The floor has been swept, the brasses polished, the candles renewed and the organ tuned.

This year the decorations include a huge angel made by the Art Group, and it really is very impressive. The Christmas tree has been decorated by the young children of Cumbrae Primary and the School's annual Christmas service takes place on Friday.

On Christmas Eve, for the 165th time, the traditional Midnight Mass takes place, to celebrate the birth of the baby Jesus .The service will begin at 11.15 pm, and everyone is invited to join us.

On Christmas morning at 11am, a service of carols and communion will be led by the Reverend Canon Alec Boyd . The Cathedral Choir will lead the music in a service of Lessons and Carols on Wednesday 28 December at 3pm when seasonal readings and more varied carols will be presented, interleaved with congregational Christmas hymns. We hope that friends from "the adjacent islands" will be able join us to celebrate this happy season. Bishop Iris Jones will lead the service, with Calum Robertson at the organ and Alastair Chisholm directing the music.
