Some brave swimmers took a first dip in the shore off Newton Beach in Millport on Sunday, but were well prepared with wet suits.
Traditionally there are new year dips around Scotland, and Millport played its part, and looked idyllic for the big splash.
The glorious conditions, although cold, provided the perfect backdrop as several keen swimmers got the opportunity to swim out to the Eileans and take in the great day.
