A rare opportunity to influence future development on the Isle of Cumbrae takes place on Tuesday March 7.
A special meeting is taking place at Millport library between 1pm-3pm as part of a consultation into the North Ayrshire Development Plan, which dictates planning policy in future.
There have been a number of controversial developments on the island including planning approval for a solar farm on Cumbrae, which has still not as yet materialised, and through this consultation, residents and businesses have the opportunity to have their say on future development until 10 March via www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/NACMIR
The main report can be found at www.north-ayrshire.gov.uk/localplans and a print copy is available at the library.
The development plan states: “The draft Millport and Cumbrae Economic Plan has ambitions for Cumbrae to be a dynamic, accessible island admired for its quality environment, recreation opportunities and business enterprise and green credentials.
“We believe the local development plan provides an opportunity to translate the island’s own aspirations into a land use framework, positively planning for their sustainable economic growth.”
