Sonoro

Yes the hills are alive with the sound of Sonoro, Millport's very own community choir. After the gloom of winter, it is hoped that spring will burst back into life with two sell out performances of what Musical Director Rhona Gourley described as a varied programme of choral singing.

The concerts take place in the DA Hall, The Garrison, Millport, on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 April at 7pm. Ticket prices are £6 and are available from choir members.

The community choir was formed last year and now boasts of around 70 members. The choir meets every Monday night in the Bowling Green clubhouse. They have entertained the community already just before Christmas in the Garrison, and finish for the season at the end of April after their concert and recommence after the summer.

Everyone will be given a very warm welcome at the concerts which will prove to be very entertaining and will showcase all the work of the choir since their formation.

Tourism AGM

As already intimated the Isle of Cumbrae Tourist Association's AGM will be held on Wednesday 22 March in Fraser's Bar (rear lounge). The programme has now been formalised.
