Holy Week on Cumbrae from 10 to 16 April sees the joining together from the Cathedral, the Catholic Chapel of Our Lady and the Parish Church for ecumenical services.
The outline for the week is: Monday-Thursday: Monday 3pm: Choral Evensong 7pm: Ecumenical Service – Age Concern Hall Preacher: The Bishop of Argyll & The Isles Tuesday 7pm: Ecumenical Service in the Cathedral Preacher Rev Sandy McCallum Wednesday 3pm: Choral Evensong in The Cathedral 7pm: Ecumenical Service - Age Concern Hall Preacher Mrs Amanda Wright Devotional Talk at 10am every morning: During the week there will be a devotional talk, a time of prayer and fellowship lasting about 45 minutes in the College Library followed by refreshments. Everybody is invited to join in with the group staying in the College and welcome to come to any one or all of these talks.
Good Friday: 10am: Devotional talk followed by 11am: Procession of Witness in town & Devotional Service at the Cathedral at 3pm Holy Saturday: 9pm Easter Vigil service in the Cathedral Easter Sunday: 11am: Sung Eucharist 3pm: Easter afternoon concert to launch the Friends of The Cathedral Appeal to include performances by The Cathedral Organist and Director of Music Mr Alastair Chisholm BEM (organ and piano), joined by Mr Jonathan Cohen (organ and piano) and Mr Feargus Hetherington (violin) coming from London and Glasgow especially to play at this concert to launch the Friends of The Cathedral Appeal.
