Cumbrae Support Team hosted an ‘open weekend’ for visitors and locals on Millport to highlight the work and equipment stored for use on the island in the event of an emergency.

On Saturday the weather was excellent, and helped get a good turnout with ‘Roger the Rabbit’ in attendance for inquisitive youngsters. All children visiting the stand received a free Easter egg for their attendance.

Amazingly, even though Sunday was a bit inclement, a total of 75 boxed eggs and 45 cream eggs found their way into our children’s Easter box.

Cumbrae Support Team conducted demonstrations into the use of Defibrillators and CPR; which is one of the greatest skills anyone can learn to save a life. These sessions throughout the weekend were very well attended.

Three new islanders were recruited and were advised on the work that Cumbrae Support Team engages in on behalf of the community.
