A report of a partially submerged cruiser at Inverclyde Water Sports Centre on Cumbrae resulted in an emergency response from the Coastguard and Largs RNLI, followed by a search of the local bay area after two lifejackets were found onboard.
Fortunately, the precautionary check was called off after the owner of the vessel made himself known to the coastguard.
The emergency call was made on Saturday morning.
On arrival the lifeboat crew found the craft partially submerged, but still attached to the jetty, with access to the small forward cabin being hindered as it was underwater.
RNLI spokesman Dave Hewitt said: "A crew member entered the water and managed to confirm that the cabin was empty. A further concern was that two lifejackets were found around the craft leading to a search by the lifeboat as far south as Clashfarland Point with negative results.
"At this point the owner of the vessel made himself known to the coastguard."
The lifeboat then returned to Largs RNLI Station.
