Major decisions about the future of the local area are set to be discussed at a meeting which is open to the public.

The next North Coast Locality Planning meeting, which incorporates Largs, Millport, Skelmorlie, Fairlie and West Kilbride takes place on 29 June at 6pm within the Dunn Memorial Hall, Largs.

Since the meetings set up last summer, a number of big issues have been analysed and discussed including the controversial axing of swing parks at Fairlie Pier and Crauford Avenue in West Kilbride, while the Largs Prom designs have also come under scrutiny. Grant funding awards are also given out at the partnership meetings including the recent £100,000 grant to the Largs Skaters Group.

The Partnership meets four times each year and looks at any action required. They then make sure that it is allocated to the most relevant partners to tackle the work.

It will be the first partnership meeting since the recent North Ayrshire Council election, and will include North Coast councillors Alex Gallagher (chair), Tom Marshall, Ian Murdoch, and Alan Hill, as well as West Kilbride councillors Joy Brahim, Todd Ferguson and Robert Barr. Local community council representatives also participate, and the public is welcome to attend.
