Cumbrae broadened its horizons last year to host its first ever comedy festival, and it has proved so popular that they are bringing it back again, with a host of top Scottish comedians hoping to take the roof off!

On Friday July 21, Pint Size Productions return with their hilarious comedy ‘Scrubbers’ at the Newton Bar. And live stand-up returns to Millport on Saturday July 22.
Big Gary Little, pictured, is one of the top comedians in Scotland, having performed at the Edinburgh Festival to great acclaim. Also appearing is Phil Differ, who began writing comedy in the early Eighties, contributing to such shows as Naked Radio, A Kick Up The Eighties, Spitting Image and Not the Nine O’Clock News. His production credits include Chewin the Fat and Radio Scotland’s Watson’s Wind Up.
Glaswegian Julia Sutherland was Fred MacAulay’s radio co-host when she stumbled into stand-up as part of an on-air stunt. Her debut solo show Fat Chance, about her weight loss, was commissioned on BBC Radio 4 and her TV credits Rory Bremner’s Rory Goes To Holyrood and Scotland’s Historic Year, both on BBC Two.
Host Des McLean starting comedy in 1999, and a finalist in the BBC New Comedy Awards the following year and has since performed shows at the Glasgow Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe They all feature in the live comedy stand-up on Saturday July 22 from 8.30pm at the D.A Hall with tickets available from Angela’s Salon and The Newton Bar.
There is a family comedy and magic show with Scottish magician Woody on the afternoon at 2pm in the marquee at the Garrison. See picture below.
