Cumbrae Dramatic Club

The dates for further performances of Cumbrae Dramatic Club's Summer Playhouse 2017 have now been announced. The two short plays by David Tristram were acclaimed by the audience at their 'first night' on Friday June 9 in the DA Hall. 'Coffee Break' and 'Little Grimley Presents Strictly Sex Factor on Ice' had the audience in stitches and in tears with laughter.

The next performances will be held on Monday July 17, Monday July 31, and Monday August 7. Doors open at 7pm for curtain up at 7.30pm. The club are performing once again on Friday evening so that mainland visitors can attend. There is plenty of time to catch the late night last ferry back on Friday after the show.

Everyone will be made most welcome. Tickets are available at the door, priced £5 for adults, and £3 for children. Please be aware that the plays both contain occasional strong language

Coffee Mornings

Cumbrae Parish Church are holding their popular weekly coffee mornings again this summer. The coffee mornings take place every Tuesday morning at Age Concern Hall from 10.30am till 12 midday. There will be a lovely tea room and stalls each week.

RBLS Millport Branch

RBLS Millport Branch is holding a coffee morning on Saturday, 15th July in the Legion Rooms, Reid Street from 10 am – 12 noon. Home made tray bakes. Entry £1.50. All Welcome. RBLS Millport Branch is holding a sponsored walk or cycle round the island on Sunday, 23rd July. Assemble at the Legion Rooms, Reid Street at 9.30 am for a 10 am start. Walkers and cyclists needed. Please help. All welcome. Sponsor forms available from The Legion, Reid Street, Millport. All proceeds to Millport Branch and Club.

Rowing

Firth of Clyde Coastal Rowing Club are hosting a Family Day in Millport on Sunday at midday. Both skiffs from Largs will be rowing over and they hope to meet up with some Cumbrae rowers for a picnic/barbecue on the beach - everyone welcome!

Pizza and Prosecco

There is a wood fired pizza, live music with Kenny Bogan and Scott Watson, at the Cathedral of the Isles, Millport. For more information, see facebook.com/CumbraeKitchen

Cumbrae Comedy Festival

On Friday July 21, there is live theatre with 'Scrubbers' at The Newton Bar. On Saturday, there is family fun entertainment, with Scottish magician Woody at 2pm at the Garrison marquee. And then on Saturday evening on the 22nd at 8.30pm, Cumbrae Comedy Festival hosts live stand-up comedy including Gary Little, Julie Sutherland, pictured, Des McLean and Phil Differ, at the DA Hall, Millport. Tickets available from Angela's Salon and The Newton Bar.

Football camp

Largs Thistle

Largs Thistle F.C community club are hosting their annual sponsored walk and cycle round Cumbrae this Sunday. They are meeting at Largs ferry slip at 11am.
