Ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne (CalMac) is asking anyone attending the Millport Country Music Festival on the evenings of September 2 and 3, to note the arrangements which have being put in place for returning to the mainland.(festival tickets available here

An extended ferry service is being put in place to allow concert-goers to be able to return to the mainland and due to the large number of people who are expected to be returning to Largs at that time, CalMac is advising that ferry travellers make their way to the slip promptly after the concert finishes at 7.30 pm and not wait until the last possible sailing if they want to avoid being left on the island.

CalMac Area Manager, Simon Richmond, said: “We are putting in place similar arrangements to those successfully deployed for many years at the conclusion of the Cowal Games in Dunoon. All we ask is that everyone who wishes to travel on the ferry is in the queue at Cumbrae Slip by 9.30 p.m. We cannot guarantee that late-comers will be carried by the time the final ferry of the day sails.”

Latest ferry information is available at: www.calmac.co.uk or via the SMS text service or smartphone App.
