This Saturday the 11th of November at 11am at the Garrison ‘Fish Bowl,’ venue at Millport all are invited to attend a poetry function run by the Cumbrae Contemporary Poetry Society.

Frances Melling will be guiding proceedings in which you are invited to participate by reading a favourite poem or three that paint a portrait or include a conversation or commemorate the sacrifice/tragedy of war.

Songs and lyrics are also welcome as well as any short prose that visitors may feel is applicable. You are welcome to read your own work or choose from one of the many national favourites. It could concern the cost of war as from Wilfred Owen’s, ‘Futility’ or be a portrait of a lover as from Robert Burn’s, ‘John, Anderson My Jo,’ or be a conversation as in Edward Lear’s ‘The Owl and the Pussy-cat.’ Come make a splash. We would appreciative it if you could include your own thoughts and writing along the way.

Coffee and cake will be served during the break.
