Starting things off with a bang, local resident, George Donohoe will be letting off fireworks to mark the beginning of Santa’s Yuletide parade.

Santa Claus and his reindeer will lead the parade through the town centre, starting from West Kilbride Train Station at 6pm and finishing at the Village Hall.

Live music is from SumwumminDrummin and dancers from West Kilbride’s new dance school The Dance Depot will be joining in the fun too.

If you wish to join the parade, please meet at the train station at around 5.30pm. The first 50 arrivals will get a free glow stick!

There will be a £25 cash prize for the most Christmassy outfit!

Santa’s Grotto will be based at the Village Hall for this very special Yuletide event, where children can meet Santa for a small entrance fee.

The Village Hall will also have traditional fair games, refreshments and stalls inside, including special guests and Yuletide sponsors, The Waterside Inn.

There will be lots of festive activities happening at West Kilbride Parish Church, West Kilbride Library and The Barony Centre, plus a fun fair.

6.45pm Wemyss Bay Christmas Lights switch on taking place at the community centre on Friday 1 December. 6.45pm - Brass Sounds Inverclyde playing 7.00pm/7.05pm - Wemyss Bay Primary School Choir singing 7.25pm - Lights Switch On! 7.30pm - Head into the Community Centre for Santa!
Inside the community centre, after the lights are switched on, there will be Santa’s grotto! Tea, coffee, juice and mulled wine Mince pies Shortbread biscuits Chekko the clown. And brand new for this year - Virtual reality zone in the middle room! The Community Association will also welcome any donations for Inverclyde Foodbank and these can be brought along on the night.

7pm Quiz - Once again this year, there will be a Christmas quiz and raffle, raising money for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). The event takes place in the Newton Bar in Millport in memory of young local man Steven Blair. Contact Hunter and Susan Blair 530674 or blair5atmillport@btinternet.com


Saturday 2 December

10am-12 noon Christmas Fayre, Fairlie Village Hall

10am-12 noon Largs Boys Brigade Christmas Fayre, Dunn Memorial Hall.

10am-12 noon Children's Hospice Association Scotland coffee morning fundraiser, United Free Church of Scotland, Brisband Road, Largs.

2pm Christmas Fayre, There is an opportunity to support local crafters and artisans at a craft fayre in Cumbrae’s Cathedral Cloisters. 
There will be a number of producers present with a wide range of hand crafted goods suitable for Christmas, as well as seasonal refreshments and an open exhibition and art sales in the Studio Gallery. The fayre runs from 2-5 pm and all are welcome – admission is free of charge and the cathedral and grounds will be open to visitors as usual.
