Policemen on the Isle of Cumbrae will be taking part in a pilot scheme for the introduction of body cams.
Smaller and lighter than a mobile phone, the devices are worn on the upper body and are typically used during patrols, events and drug searches.
Police Scotland officers have stated that the cameras helped de-escalate potentially dangerous situations involving aggressive individuals.
Bodycams were first introduced to the police force in Scotland in 2013, but there have been various problems concerning their use.
Most of the problems were not in relation to the cameras themselves, but officers being unable to log the cameras in and out.
BBC Scotland reported earlier this year that Police Scotland is conducting a "scoping exercise" regarding a nationwide deployment of these cameras.
During the recent Cumbrae Community Council meeting, it was reported that there have been four ASBO (Anti Social Behaviour Order) tickets issued recently, with one licensed premises having had three incidents with a request to attend made to the police.
* It was noted by Cumbrae Community Council that whilst individuals are at liberty to apply for housing on Cumbrae there are no social care facilities here.
Cumbrae Community Council will write to Cunninghame Housing Association, and ask if it possible to assess applicants to see if their social care needs would mean they would be better suited living elsewhere. The other solution would be to have an on call social worker on the island.
