The condition of fish, shellfish and seabed habitats of the Clyde is coming under the spotlight at a special event in North Ayrshire.

The Clyde Marine Planning Partnership invites the public to learn about how the marine environment has changed over time, and the sensitivities and pressures they face today. This will also be an opportunity for the public to provide their views and highlight topics and issues that are important to them, as well as contribute to discussions on future marine planning and policy in the Clyde. Light refreshments will be served on arrival.

The historical decline in herring and fish live on or near the seabed (e.g. cod, haddock and whiting) will be covered, as well as the thriving prawn fishing of today, and other commercially important shellfish in the Clyde such as scallops, crabs and lobsters.

Two short video animations will also be shown to illustrate the process of the ‘Assessment’, and the 'condition of seabed habitats, fish and shellfish in the Clyde'.

The presentation event takes place on Saturday 27 January at 12.30pm at the Lauriston Hotel, Ardrossan.
