Flowerbeds in Millport have been scaled back this year, in line with what has also happened in Largs.
The reason for the cutbacks is that the council's grounds maintenance budget has been slashed by £250,000.
A North Ayrshire Council spokesperson said: “Following another challenging financial settlement, we have been required to make a number of savings including a reduction in grounds maintenance and floral displays across North Ayrshire.
“Millport is an area where the grounds are always well maintained and while this will continue for 2018 some of the flower beds will be removed and others reduced to help us meet necessary savings.
“If any community groups are interested in taking on the maintenance of the flower beds or planters, Streetscene would be delighted to hear from them.
“There will be poppies on display in flower beds at Cardiff Street/West Bay Road to commemorate the centenary of the end of the first World War.”
