The President of the Isle of Cumbrae Elderly Forum has slammed a pharmacist as 'insensitive' and 'self-centred' in his attempts to open a Millport premises.
Last week, the 'News' told how James Semple - who owns the Gourock-based TLC Pharmacy Group - had claimed that new dispensaries were being prevented from opening by island doctors with a vested interest in maintaining the status quo.
He insisted that fellow pharmacy applicant, Sarah McSorley, had even recently been "bullied" into withdrawing her interest in opening a Millport premises.
However, Elderly Forum President, Mrs Jean (McKinnon) Kerr, this week branded Mr Semple's comments unfair to the GPs and urged him and others to re-consider their hopes of moving into Cumbrae.
