'Beechgrove won't halt Millport garden plans'

Island councillors have pledged that Millport will press ahead with its community garden project whether the Beechgrove Garden TV show is involved or not.

Back in February, the chairman of the Isle of Cumbrae Initiative, Frank Corcoran, announced the granting of £130,282 to set up a garden within the grounds of Garrison House.

However, despite the BBC's Beechgrove Garden team since getting in touch and telling organisers of their interest in basing a show around the island project, members of Cumbrae Community Council have insisted that the programme makers will not dictate their plans.
