Kames Bay is 'disgrace', say islanders

Cumbrae councillors have complained that a biological study is marring Kames Bay - but researchers insist it has been 'degraded for decades'.

At last week's meeting of Cumbrae Community Council, concerns were expressed over the lack of maintenance taking place currently at the bay as a result of the project.

However, the station's Professor Geoff Moore told the 'News' that the move was simply allowing "nature to thrive again in an area that had been biologically degraded for decades".
