Garrison House stayed open late for Yuletide Night in Millport, featuring free crafts and entertainment for local children as well as a sale of local wares and complimentary drinks and mince pies for the adults.

A total of eight traders took part selling a variety of Christmas gifts and crafts whilst resident guru Sandy Morton opened his ‘wee’ museum to share memories of Millport of yesteryear.

The night also featured the official switch on of the Garrison lights sourced by Cumbrae Community Council and funded by SSE Community Fund. Thanks to them, every window in Garrison House is now adorned by fairy lights and twinkling stars.

The Yuletide Night also saw the launch of free wifi for cafe customers as part of the Garrison IT installation project. Now you can surf the net whilst sipping your latte.

Any local kids who missed the night and would like to take part in the colouring competition should collect and submit their entries at the Garrison Cafe. The closing date is Friday 20th December and the winner in each age group wins a selection box.

The board of CCDC wish all our members and the rest of the community a very merry Christmas. If you are interested in becoming a member, please contact membership secretary Kelly Norton for details.
