Cumbrae Community Development Company have issued a flyer to the island stating that they are looking at opening a community pharmacy in The Garrison.
The flyer, which states it comes from the development company, said: “This project would be run entirely by CCDC for the benefit of patients, visitors and the community. Government legislation has recently changed with regard to how the necessary license is awarded, and the community it serves having a large say in the process ... for and against.” People can vote online for their backing of the project using a code which appears on the flyer. Any questions about the poll can be put to Mi-Voice at 0845 241 4145.
A privately run Millport pharmacy was opened by James Semple on the island several years ago. Mr Semple has expressed his disappointment at the development to the ‘News’.
