Millport is holding a full weekend of yuletide delights before Christmas this year.
On Friday 12 December, Santa will make his first appearance on the island.
He will leave from the Garrison led by Millport Pipe Band at 5.30pm and travel to his usual special grotto in Mapes Toy Shop, which opens at 6pm. There will be carol concerts and more music from the pipe band, and shops are invited to open late.
On Saturday 13 December, there are loads of activities planned including a craft sale, pipe band concert, a festive family fun run and barbecue and concert at the Royal George Hotel, and on Sunday the Craft Fayre is open once again in the Garrison, and Hopscotch Theatre Group will perform their panto ‘Sleeping Beauty’ in the DA Hall. Full details of these events will be published nearer the time. Any donations to the Festive Weekend are welcome and can be handed in to Cumbrae Laundry.
