The relaxing big band music resonated around the Garrison grounds on Sunday afternoon thanks to the efforts of the Millport Festival Group.
The group achieved grant funding from SSE in order to host a twenty piece jazz band - the Zig Zag Big Band which were playing both traditional and new sounds - even including the Star Wars theme to Darth Vader's imperious marching tune!
Fresh from performing at the Glasgow Jazz Festival on Sunday, the ‘Zig Zag Big Band' performed throughout Sunday afternoon inside the marquee.
The band perform challenging, original and contemporary chart mucic. Think tunes and arrangements by Mingus, Horace Silver and fantastic modern composers such as Ryan Quigley and Scott Free.
