Crime spree warning from police

Police are investigating a series of break-ins across the district and have once again warned residents to be on their guard and lock up their properties despite the mild temperatures.
"There appears to be prowlers about," said PC McPhail, "I would stress to keep your windows and doors locked and make sure your alarm system, if you have one, is activated. Generally the public should be on their guard as someone is prowling about."
A thief broke into a house in Castlepark Drive in Fairlie between 23 June and 3 July in which a quantity of crystal was taken believed to be worth around £50.
On Tuesday 6 July, there was a break-in to a house in Bellard Road, West Kilbride in which electrical goods including a digital camera and some jewellery was stolen, along with a Playstation 3 Console and games. The theft occurred at some point during the afternoon and police are continuing enquiries. There was an attempted break-in to a property in Meadowfoot Road on Sunday 4 July.
Two houses in West Bay, Millport, were broken into by opportunist thieves who stole cash, bank cards and a TAG watch. The incidents happened overnight from last Thursday into Friday.
