Summer fun at Cumbrae Dramatic Club
The opening night and first performances of Cumbrae Dramatic Club's summer playhouse 2010 drew a good sized audienace who gave the club a much appreciated good response.
Two funny one-act plays were enjoyed by all, and the variety was not lost on them.

Millport comedy capers with Mary Currie and Jackie Wilson
The first play "Daytrippers" by Jean McConnell featured just two actresses, Mary Currie and Jackie Wilson in a seaside setting with a hilarious twist.
The second play "Slim Chance" by Peter Gordon, is set in a slimming club (with a bit of a difference (nobody actually loses weight!) and is really funny. Heading the eight female cast is Kirstin Metcalfe as the exasperated Branch Organiser with members played by Mary Currie, Lorraine Fraser, Jackie Wilson, Kelly Norton, Meg Lindsay, Joan Clark and Alison Watson. Performances were held on Mondays 5 and 12 July. The next performance will be 26 July and there will be two performances in August. Curtain rises in the DA Hall at 7.30pm.
