West Kilbride campaign to save Kirktonhall
A WEST Kilbride trust is being set up to try to save Kirktonhall building in West Kilbride.
Jurie Duvenage is part of a new group which will raise funds to try to save the historic village building from deteriorating further.
North Ayrshire Council have carried out the very basic of repairs but, are not in a financial position to carry out any major renovation works to the former council offices.
Jurie said: "There is a great deal of concern within the community about the building's future, so much so that a small group have set themselves up to lease the building from North Ayrshire Council in an attempt to raise the necessary funding to save the building from total dereliction."

Report commentI thought this beautiful building was sold for pennies to a builder about two years ago? Surely they should have a duty of care to the building and stop it becoming unsafe and endangering the local community! Does anyone know who actually owns it? I would love to restore it to its former glory as a project,
