Pharmacist says dispensary nothing to do with him

The long-running and bitter dispute about the probable closure of the Millport doctors' dispensary rages on with the new pharmacist stating that it is not his decision.

The pharmacist who has opened a commercial business in Millport at a time when islanders are campaigning to save the GPs dispensary at The Garrison has hit out at local councillor and lawyer Alan Hill.

In response to a letter from Councillor Hill who criticised the new pharmacy Mr James Semple claimed the island solicitor was "ill-informed."

In a hard-hitting letter Mr Semple said:

'Pharmacy services' are not provided by the local GP. A dispensing service is, but it's not the same thing and I'd have hoped a lawyer might understand the difference. "
