Happy memories of Christmas display at Nardini's
The Largs and Millport Weekly News is putting its archive of old black and white photos online at our Facebook page and is already jogging the memories of readers.
A range of historic photos are appearing on a daily basis online at www.facebook.com/largsandmillportnews where you can join the regular feed by clicking the 'Like' button. We have now reached nearly 1400 followers.
A 1980s picture of Nardini's Cafe with its classic royal blue signage on Largs seafront has brought back the proverbial flood of memories.
Laurene Bonsor recalled: "I practically lived there for a while. I was 17-ish. Coffees with Manuella Guidi and Gillian Maclean. Worked there for a while but i think most of us did at one point. Loved the bakery and remember working in restuarant with head waiter, a lovely guy called Domenico."
Francesca Nardini said: "He was such a lovely guy and so great with the customers and he used to have me in 'knots' with his perfect Scottish accent!"
Diane Van Winge quipped: "The Christmas chocolate display was always worth visiting.

Report commentI remember working for Nardini's loved it summers where great fun with the radio 1 roadshow over the road and the winters going in with lots of friends to have hot choclatesor bovril and crackers. I always will remember Domenico and Loridana his wife. Always made you feel welcome.
