A Royal Navy helicopter made a surprise visit to Millport on Christmas Day.

Cumbrae Coastguard Rescue Team had manned their landing site for the Air Ambulance which was transferring a patient from Millport to Paisley at 3pm.

However, due to weather conditions the transfer was aborted, and later carried out by the Royal Navy rescue helicopter from Prestwick.
